The Secret Seven disclosed.

Just seven drivers have been 'contracted' to run the 2013 WSS. We will all be getting to the tracks early this upcoming season to meet these brave men during happy hour.

S27 Danial Pestka, S81 Luke Dillon, T14 Mark House, W17 Shane Stewart (US), Shaun Bradford, N9 Steve Caunt, W19 Trent Pigdon.

Sprintcars are GO !!!

World Series Sprintcars have announced the dates for the 2013 series that kicks off in South Australia and passes our way at Avalon (The Place For Pace) on Dec 30th. Not much to report on who the contracted touring drivers will be but Shane Stewart's will once again be contesting the series. Dums will be a definite non starter due to a tyre conflict and loosing Hoosier as the 'official' tyre deal. There's a question mark over Tattnel owing to the fact his daughter is due to start school in the US but who knows, it is a shorter season this time. Robbie Farr, will he even have a drive this year? Here are the dates..

Michael out, Lewis in.

So what's so silly then?
The silly season 'they' call it and it is certainly silliness we see this time each year. Our Mark gave up his chance to race the big red car which I thought would be something every racer would want to do before they retire but our Mark is hanging in with the Red Bullshit car. We all thought Shuey coming back in the German team was more about national pressure than racing and in a shock decision he has been relegated to the Mercedes safety car where he can (probably) stay out of accidents and still get to lead a few laps. Not so for Lois, he gets to keep his Gull Wing and jumps camp after all these years with his mentor Ron Dennis to take over the vacant seat. From one unreliable Mercedes donk to another. Nico Rosberg won't be too thrilled as he will still hang on to his second driver position, I would think. Perhaps the Hulk (Nico Hulkenberg) could have slid into Shuey's ride to retain the German-ness of the team and hey! have two Nico drivers. Perez takes over Hamilton's Vodafone suit along with Button and has proved he's no slow polk over recent races in the Sauber. A good choice Ron. Fernando stays at Ferrari and Massa who has never really been 'on it' since his accident will possibly be replaced by test driver Davide Rigon, lucky boy. It looks like Kimi will stick around at Lotus, unless he can find something better to do and it's looking like the wild child Grosjean will take his talents elsewhere. I think the Sauber would be perfect for him. Williams will drop young Senna but retain rolling trouble, Pastor Maldanado. With eleven places still up for grabs it would seem the silliness will continue and we may see more new faces in season 2013.

Slingin' it in Singapore

What white line?
Somehow the news reports seemed to think last nights race around the streets on Singapore was 'dramatic' and 'action-packed'. Well maybe it was for the drama queens but the race was littered with mistakes. About the only drama for this lounge-chair racer was Lois, ooops Lewis Hamilton fumbling his way through a box of neutrals while leading the race. Seb managed to stay off the walls to win from Jensen and Alfonso in third. Alf still maintains a good lead in the drivers championship on 194 points from Vettel and now Kimi in third spot. Could Rikkonen win the championship without having a race win?? Our Mark Webber, the naughty boy, was penalized 20 seconds religating him a position to 11th (and no race point) for overtaking Sushi Kobiashi while having four wheels outside the track. Well I counted five wheels and the track edge was merely a white painted line, however it's obviously a no no. It's off to Suzuka in Japan then to China and Vietnam for some table-top racing, can't wait.

The ever-ready slide guitar kit from iSlide
I came across this last minute gift idea for the guitar Dad with the lot. Well it was actually a birthday gift idea but I thought it was appropriate for Fathers Day. Yep, it's the slide guitar kit from the sideboard draw. (guitar not included). Happy Father's Day twangers.
