Bernie in happier times with the ex.

Bernie is an unhappy chappy in that his show has been pulled through the mud over the yellow flag incident. The fact being our Bernie, the ringmaster, is pretty proud of his circus and for this latest episode to bring a cloud over what was a pretty exciting year surely would be a downer.
So it would seem that Ferrari have spoken out over the one rule for us, one rule for them incidents, yep incidents plural that happened over the season. One, Alonso being tipped over in two events by the Renault boys in what was simply bad driving and as a consequence, losing any championship points chances. The other an incident at the Japanese round where Alonso was blocked by naughty boy Seb in qualifying for which he wasn't penalized.
When we see Kart racing tactics played out in Formula One (and for millions of dollars) we know we're in the childly 2012's.
Oops! got a bit side tracked there. I was meant to say the FIA did see nothing on the yellow flag incident as I thought may have happened. A quick surf over to the FIA site and there wasn't even a mention of it. Heard on the wireless this morning the FIA said that Vettel didn't overtake under a yellow. Colour blind?
Attached: a nice picture showing Bernie with an un-Bernie-like smile with ex wife Slavica. Shads of Ab Fab's Bo and Marshall don't you think..

As anticipated..

What yellow??
As I sit here hogging Ikea's wi-fi hotspot I read on the BBC news that naughty boy Seb Vettel could possibly loose his 2012 championship to Fernando Alonso. At this stage (Nov 29) it's "no comment" from all the parties that could be affected. This would seem to be in the hands of the FIA (who also haven't commented) who are in fact obliged to investigate the claim the Seb overtook a car during a yellow flag early in the final race in Brazil. Unfortunately the TV coverage didn't show the incident in question but of course it is all over YouTube. According to the BBC article the FIA have to either dish out a penalty by tomorrow or forget it Schultz style.. I see nothing. If they have the balls to proceed then Seb will have to pay a visit to Fernando. It seems it will hinge on an infield marshal that was waving a green flag signifying the pit lane was open. How's this poor bugger going to feel?

Keselowski clinches the title

Keselowski celebrates with a Millers Lite
Third generation driver Brad Keselowski (28) wins the drivers championship in the NASCAR Sprint Cup series for 2012. Pedaling the #2 Millers Lite mobile for Rodger Penske Brad was to finish in 15th place a lap in arrears in the final round at Homestead-Miami Speedway but it was enough to clinch the championship.
From the 80 drivers that competed in the series our Marcos Ambrose was to finish in 18th and pocketed a cool 4.8 million greenbacks for his efforts. Perhaps this is where the Giz is going next year? Nothing like starting a good rumour.

Circuit of the Americas, all systems are go.

Jenson sizes up the place.
Hamilton has done his homework. 'I've only driven the track on the PS3, but I think it's going to be a track that drivers enjoy. I'm looking to be the first grand prix winner there.' The new 250 zillion dollar Circuit of the Americas Hermann Tilke bulldozed track that was slated for a rubbish dump is now the pride an joy of 'some' Austiners. No doubt as with any first time epic event it will have its teething problems, can't find a park, not enough dunnies etc. Not to mention the bad timing of the extravaganza, some wacko has programed it up against the NASCAR final. I wonder if Bernie knew this? There goes the TV ratings. Check out the Mail Online report here!!

Jeff Gordon cops probation and a 100g fine.

Jeff and his crew get in a wild biff-up after an on track altercation with Clint Bowyer at Phoenix International Raceway on the weekend. A brain snap had Jeff put Clint in the wall and NASCAR imposed a $100,000 fine on Jeff plus 25 championship points. He must have been pretty cranky with Bowyer or was having a bad hair day?? Kimi and Jamie both elated at Yas Marinara.

Well our Mark Webber was right about the Yas Marinara being a car park. The only thing giving it away that the track wasn't a car park for the support V8 Supercar race was the fact that the cars were moving and there weren't any boom gates to be seen. Some bright spark, probably Mark Scaife, had come up with some wacky qualifying method where the grid for the first of the three sprint races was determined by a drivers best qualy time. The second race was decided by their second fastest time and the third race their third fastest time. Well guess what? The top three grid spots were taken by the same three for each race. In fact the format was so complicated that I haven't been able to find anywhere on the net (well v8supercars.com.au anyway) how this even worked. So as complex as qualifying was we didn't see that much of a difference at least at the head of the grid.
So to the races. Jaimie Wincup won all three races from the second grid spot from Will Davidson. Yes, I fell a sleep too but with three race wins Jamie has bagged enough points to win the championship. It would take a broken arm to hold him back from here.
It was a different race track for the F1's and what a race it was. Our Mark did one of his usual reverse starts which saw a flying Lois Hamilton sail off into the distance with iceman Kimi who had jumped Mark off the grid hanging on to Hamilton. Unfortunately for Lois he had a power cut in the Voodofone McLaren which gave Kimi the race lead and eventually the win from Alfonso and Seb. The after race podium interviews with Dave Coulthard was a classic from Kimi and Seb who was finding things difficult with his second language.
