Robert badly injured

GP Renault driver Robert Kubicia has been injured in a high speed crash while heading to the start of the Ronde di Andora rally in Liguria, Italy. It is beyond me why the GP teams allow their drivers to take on such risky outside activities ?? His co-driver, Jacub Gerber, is reported to have emerged from the wreck unhurt, but Kubica remained inside the stricken car to be later taken by helicopter to the Santa Corona hospital suffering from multiple fractures and internal trauma. Not good. His condition was said to be serious and subsequent reports claimed he may be at risk of losing a hand that was crushed in the crash. Let's hope not.
