The past and the future

Okay Electric Guitars and Racing Cars fans, just taking stock and see what's been happening and where we're going. Well we have had quite nice balance of guitars and car racing blogs since I've resumed posting.
The Satisfaction clip drew a few visitors out of the woodwork. Hang on, that's me in the woodwork?? Never mind, we had a few visits and quite a bunch of direct YouTube hits for the old Lonely Boys. It's better that stuff is 'out there' than sitting in my old video collection. Stay tuned, there's plenty more.

I've been going a bit nuts with trying to find the 'guitar for life'. I probably already have it in amongst the eleven or eight [J Sloggett] I already have however the search goes on and everyday I'm getting closer to the perfect instrument.
It's over and out for F1 season 2011. How was it for you? Already Seb is heading to be an all time great, we better get use to his un-shaven moosh on the podieum.
Phew! Am I glad the V8Supecar season comes to and end this weekend. Talk about same old same old. Racing these days in both F1 and the V8's seems to be more about setting records than racing? It's quite disappointing for race fans. Still, there is always the new season to look forward to as we like to think. Speedway, well the sprintcars anyway, while speedway followers can usually pick the winner from a handful or the top guns it is always an exciting race when there's 18/900 horse powered beasts going for it in a couple of acre paddock there in front of you. We get to see the best of the best racers each year from the US mixing it with our well kitted out local drivers. It's a pretty even playing field and probably (read definitely) the best racing you will ever see. As Mike Raymond use to say.. BE THERE !!
For the 11/12 speedway season I have decided to follow one particular driver and see where the season takes him. Young James McFadden is a 21 year old kid from Brisbane whose family is behind him, has a few good sponsors and crew helping him on his way. James was Aussie sprintcar champion a couple of years back which is no mean feat so we know he has 'it' and can win races. I'm not necessarily a James fan but just thought I would keep an eye on him and see how he gets on rather than just report on race winners, same old same old that you would all know about anyway.
I can see by my behind the scenes stats we are getting a few visitors so all comments are welcome. I don't intend to promote EG&RC or have plans to make it the biggest guitar/racing blog on the net but simply to post a few rants on my two favourite topics. Merry Christmas.
