Australia's Marcos Ambrose.. hang on, shouldn't that be Tasmania's Marcos Ambrose? Our Marcos scored his second pole position in as many weeks. He did say he was more nervous running his 95mph qually lap around the road course at Sanoma than he was his 200mph qualifying lap at the previous race at Michigan. This week Marcos was racing for a cool million buckaroonies, not for his pocket but for the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals through the Ace Hardware Foundation to benefit sick and injured children donated by his primary sponsor Stanley (Tools). So far it has been a good season for the lad now with two pols and two top ten finishes and to boot.. a pole-winning time of 35.426 seconds (203.241 mph) set a new track record at the big Michigan oval. And for the stat minded..  Ambrose is only the fourth driver to win a pole at  over 200 mph. How about 'dem Tassie apples?
