Da Boss.. can you handle it?

A looper pedal would seem to be a must for guitarists these days. Live I should think it could be a nightmare but for recording and especially practice it would be a great tool.
There are literally dozens of them out there now, anywhere from under a hundred big ones to many hundreds depending on the features you want. Being a one knob kind of guy (yes, I'm a knob) the TC Electronics Ditto would be enough for me to keep under control although it is designed to be used on a powered pedal board. However, a power block for any of them would be a good idea as I should think any battery powered looper would devour batteries nightly. I don't really have a need for one myself.. what? me practice? The Boss range would seem pretty popular but this may just be marketing. I think the go is to actually try the functionality and see what suits you. I'm sure they will all have the same lollies inside.
