Just a little touch up.

Yep, shows signs of a little bumping alright.
Sydney Motorsport Park Saturday August 19th. Supermarket car park or racing circuit? Day one of racing saw young Kiwi favourite Scotty McLaughlin take his umpteenth pole of the season only to be fried of the start by fellow Kiwi racer Shane Van Gisbergen.
After a bit of a spillage beam-me-up Scotty had passes Gizzy to take the lead but all hell broke loose on the restart when Shane decided to move the cattle to the outside of the track with a few side swipes. Shane managed to upset Scotty and broke away to lead the race once again. Scotty saw red (as you would) and decided to let Shane know he was there with what the voice of Supercar, Crompo called a 'love tap'. Unfortunately a gentle tap left side to the rear bumper while carrying out a left turn results in a spin for the bumped car. C'mon McLaughlin, it's not go-carts. This left Shane facing the oncoming pack and no doubt also seeing red.
So timed penalties for both the dickheads were issued with Shane Giz receiving 33 seconds off his race time reducing him to a 24th place finish for his biff and barge actions. Scott was already on a good behaviour bond with 15 seconds against him plus an additional 18 seconds penalty for the turn-around. mmmm? I though that was a bit light, anyway his accumulated penalties had him finish in 22nd. So what do you do? Say sorry of course and it's all behind you and you live to fight another day.
