Joining the nine WSS contracted drivers were twenty four of the best sprintcar pilots made up of mainly Croweaters (South Australians). Local peddler Trevor Green took away the heavy qualifying points with a 13.12 around the Adelaide quarter miler. After two rounds of heats, the bronze, silver and gold shootouts and the B main this was how they lined up for the A. S81 driver Luke Dillon led the field away from Robbie Farr and last years series winner James McFadden. Locals Brad Keller and Trev Green made up the top five and this was how they ran for the first 15 laps. Hot series favourite Steve Lines driving the W3 car was on the move and by lap 19 had moved through the bunch to fourth place. USA drivers Kyle Hurst had disappeared off the radar after lap 16 while fellow countryman Tim Keading had a good run going until he also disappeared on lap 28. It was contracted driver Luke Dillon that was to draw first blood with a go to wo run at round one of the World Series Sprintcars for 2012/2013.
