It's wind down time for the sprintcar season and time once again for the annual 'Easter Sprintcar Trail'. When I was a lad just a few years ago we would follow the racing on Easter weekend, pitching our tent in the car park and freezing our butts off. It was huge fun. These days it's a matter of logging in to Speed Hive and a little reading.

Race One: run and won
That was the first I'd heard that the tyres from Qualy 2 were what the cars started the race on. Are Pirelli running the show? Rules, rules and more rules. Yep Hairy Dan copped a speeding-under-red penalty and fair enough but then did the team make the right tyre choice in Q2?

The revitalisation of the Bigsby.
In the 50's it was 'the' vibrato then for some unknown reason it disappeared for a while. This may well have been due to patent reasons or simply because Jimi Hendrix came along? Vibrato's, or tremolo's as Leo called them (but that's for another blog) were designed as a pitch altering device to emulate the pleasing sound of the Hawaiian laps steel guitar.
