This could be a winner?

Nice but..
It seems Nissan have given their Supercar program the flick stating the Altima is no longer being sold in Australia as the reason. Whether or not the Kelly gang will keep running the Altima's without factory backing is yet to be seen but pretty much doubted.

When Nissan were asked if entering their mighty GT-R (seen above) quote: (Nissan Australia boss Stephen Lester confirmed that) the GT-R was never discussed as a possible option for Supercars. So, is this a good or a bad thing?

Well this cynic thinks it's a good idea to keep the GT-R in the GT class and to bring in the Camaro to race the Mustang's in a classic two make GM v's Ford muscle car Supercar series. Forget the Euro Commodore's and anything else, just race the near-stock show room cars with some race tyres and go-fast bits and take it to the world. The Nissan Supercars never really worked in capturing the fan's interest. The Merc's pulled out rather abruptly and these new Commodore's-- well, can we buy one in Australia? They aren't showing much so far in the series either. I think it's time for the powers that be to wake up and as Molly use to say.. do themselves a favour and give the fans good racing that may possibly sell cars on the Monday and something the fans can barrack for. Take this two marque series to the US and run the traditional old circuit's and you would have a hit. Get with it Supercars and while you're at it give us some decent FTA TV coverage. Have a nice day.
