Superloop 500 - run, done, won.

Scotty Mc checks the wind direction before he hits the track.
It only seemed like the other weekend when we saw the Supercars battling it out on the streets of Newcastle. This weekend we're in Adelaide for the Superloop 500.
It was the first two rounds for Supercars for the 2020 season. R1 on the Saturday and R2 on Sunday. There was some kind of wacky qualifying that I hope the drivers could figure out with Commodore driver and multiple champ Jami Whincup eventually taking the pole and the win for the Saturday race.
Qualifying was on again on the Sunday morning for Round 2, this time it was Shane Van Gizzy starting on pole alongside Scotty Mc. Scotty's team made an error in their pitstop by allowing the T8 team who had Gizz in the pit behind the #17 car. T8 short filled the #97 allowing Gizzy to exit in front of McLachlan and lead the race. Unfortunately the rules required T8 to pit Van Gisbergen for his remaining fuel allocation which dropped him back to 5th? With new tyres he was making up for lost time and getting closer to a podium when steering failure struck with just a handful of laps remaining. From leading most of the race, a strategy error and a mechanical failure, R2 resulted in no points and a DNF. It can be a tough game.
Scotty won the race (R2) and with his finish on the Saturday combined with his Sunday win sees him topping the championship.
