It even comes in red. It would make a cool jazzer? |
Fender, what have you done? This is yet another reissue like the Lead 1 and 2 recently released. It's the 1969 Fender Music-lander Swinger. Nice name but why Fender, why are you doing it to us?
This little learner guitar does have Fender on the headstock, it's made in Japan so is probably pretty good. It is a mutant of the Duosonic/Musicmaster family of short scale instruments that may have been a popular Christmas gift for young Jimmy (10) back in the day. These were rare in their own right and I've never laid eyes on the streamlined Swinger version. Japan have released two flavours, the Swinger in lovely Burgundy Mist Metallic with two Mustang style el'cheapo pickups and a Limited Swinger in Lake Placid Blue (for the boys) with only a neck pickup. Will we every see one of these revived creations or are Fender just wasting wood again?
