Music music music.

So things have been a little dull on it with guitars and cars and who really cares where Hairy Dan will end up in the 2019 F1 season or will Alfonso retire? I have been busy at the grind stone shaping a little music for a change.

This has been an ongoing project (and a challenge) for a while now. In fact a very long while since 1979 when the idea to turn a song or two of my old buddies Split Enz into instrumentals. Well with a surprise gift from my long time friend a band mate Billy Kristian I was given a backing track for the first of The Enztrumentals trilogy.. the Tim Finn penned 'I Hope I Never'. Billy had known I was wanting to record my interpretation of Tim's song and unbeknown to me Billy had rounded up the Mangonui Strings, squashed them into his Far North studio and recorded a glorious backing track for me to layer a few guitars on. Some months later, or it may have been years, when I holidayed with Billy at a secret location I dusted off the old Strat and layered.

'I Hope I Never' is the first of the trilogy and tribute to the great melodies of Tim Finn. This is followed in this YouTube playlist by 'Dirty Creatures' and 'Six Months In A Leaky Boat'.

If you click through to YouTube to enjoy the amazin' clips that I found to complement the recordings then please leave a comment so I know you've visited.. Geeez! Dave, what a load of s%^&t.
