And the champs keep on coming..

Thanks to SpeedCafe for the seasons coverage.

Well. we lost the excitement of what the Supercars championship could have been when a mishap in Shane Vans final pitstop of the Saturday (penultimate) race bought the wrath of the stewards. Contraversial as was the wheel spinning in NZ but it really destroyed what would have been a down-to-the-wire the finale. With a five grid penalty it blew out the points only requiring Scott McLaughlin to finish the race.to claim the title. It was a great run from the young and excitable Kiwi lad and credit must go to the Dick and Richard Shell team. We lost last years championship winner Jamie Whincup earlier on in the season leaving the Giz to take the reins only to be let down by the mighty T8 team. They had it in the bag if it hadn't been for the spinning wheel penalty and Saturdays fuel/jack issue. No doubt Rolly will be having a few words with the crew before the new season.
Congrats Scotty, you must be the most popular superstar in motorsport this week. A well driven and deserved championship win. And did I forget to mention that the old Peter Brock trophy can handle 40 chicken McNuggets!!

2018/2019 Victorian sprintcar champ is...

Same old, same old..
From green to chequer is was our own two time Australian champion David Murcott who recently returned from a holiday drive in the US, Murky to his friends, lead all the way after earning himself a pole start from a good run in the preliminary's. While some of the heats may have seen some good racing the A-Main certainly looked a bit of a yawn fest.

One for the ladies.

But I prefer pink.
Woman's footy, woman's cricket and now Formula W for only woman. Is this the Spice Girls or just another woman's lib thing, "we can race just as good as the boys". Well that's all fine with me but we do have woman in racing now, our own Simona de Silvestro in the Supercars mixes it with the boys.

Newcastle is in for a treat.

Go Charlie Go!!
I know I have seen this guy before and lucky Newcastle will get to see him next week at the big hurrah that is the Coates Hire Newcastle 500. Yep, you guessed it. It's none other that Charlie Burchill and he will be there headlining Saturday's after race party with his mate Jim Kerr from the sensational Scottish export (second only to Johnny Walker), 80's chart toppers Simple Minds.

Brazil: marred by fisticuffs.

No one messes with the Max.
F1 in Brazil for the penultimate race of the season was an exciting race considering we already have a World Champion driver crowned. Blingy was hanging on with destroyed tyres at the end but with his win and the other team car (Valerie) rolling home in fifth was enough to clinch the manufactures championship for Mercedes.

Guitar sound, what is it exactly?

Ummm???
I have been thinking a lot about this one recently. There are a gazillion companies around the world making sound altering gadgets for electric guitar and guitarists the world over are falling for these little coloured boxes. Firstly to qualify myself, I play a three-way switch Stratocaster with one lead and possibly a Fender Twin Reverb amp if I think I need reverb. If I need distortion or the polite term.. overdrive, then I turn the fuher up.

Pure Tele abuse, what do you think?

A truck ran over my Tele.
While I was in Disillusionland I couldn't help but notice this 'thing' from Fender. Thankfully it is a limited edition which means the stores are going to run out of them pretty quick and that will be the end of them.

What's instore for 2019?

Have wings, will fly.
Okay, I know we still have a few F1 and Supercar races to be run but it would seem for Supercars at least we will see big changes, but what changes? Well the biggin' will be the introduction of the Ford Mustang or something that will look a little like one. I mean, just who are they trying to kid?

Why Disilusioned Land?

A little damp.. yes?
So why Disillusioned Land? Basically motor sport, well particularly F1 and the Supercars have turned to absolute c%^p. We have a driver/team loosing a major event because of a drivers fitness. We have the chaos that went with it, the spinning wheel saga which received a drive through penalty for a dazed and confused driver that shouldn't of even been on the track and should have been called in laps prior.

So where have I been?

The #2 Courtney/Perkins boost mobile. Thanks Herald Sun for lovely the pic.
I have been holidaying in Disillusioned Land, away from electric guitars and racing cars. Away from the fiasco that was the Autobarn Bathurst 1000 where the poor bugger that was leading the race and going for the win picked up a severe case of leg cramp.
