Champion J-Mac's everywhere.

That's series four for our J-Mac.
And for that other J.. J.Mac. James McFadden has won the World Series Sprintcars series of season 2017/2018. This is James' fourth WSS win which goes to show that the best car with a pretty good driver is what it takes.

J-Dub's excited and so am I.

J-Dub has a sneaky peek at what Santa brought him.
With just two days until the fun and games kick off on the streets of Adelaide we're all holding our breath and excited to see if the new pretend Commodore's can handle the heat. No less than fourteen new (sort of) Holden's take the grid for the Adelaide 500 for round one of the 2018 Supercar Championship.

The Surfcats project

How about a warm round of applause for..
A while back Mark Tinson, a fellow muso from the NSW mid coast, contacted me to see if I would be interested in participating in his third CD project "Mark Tinson's Surfcats". I'm not exactly a water baby but I thought why not, I'll have a paddle.

Tubes verses solid state.

Love it, the steam punk amp.
The thermionic triode or vacuum tube as we know it was invented only a hundred years ago and ever since we have had 'electric' guitars we have had tube amps. It wasn't until the 70's that we saw the introduction of the semi-conductor (tickets please) used in a guitar amplifier. Oh how time flies.

Who can it be now?

“In the six years I have been here, I have not spoken to another team and that shows how committed I am.”
mmm? could we round that out to two twenty?
Give up? Of course it's our old pal Blingy. He's committed and he's thinking if he should stick around with Toto and the Mercedes team for another couple of years through to the end of 2020.

How long before tecnology eats itself?

You wind, I'll punch in the numbers.
You have to love this. Forgive me but I'm from the old school. In fact I'm the only guy I know that's smarter than their phone. Yep, I have a wind up one.

Seriously (as they say), I can't believe how companies this day and age can release software onto the public that is unfinished. What's more, how do the public accept this and continually buy this crap and let these ginormous companies get away with it.

Real drivers in the virtual world.

For years us sim racers have enjoyed racing with like minded wannabe racers just like ourselves but with the state-of-the-art domestic level racing simulations of today there is new competition from the real world. As with, let's call it loosely, 'online gaming' you never really know who you are competing against.

And they wonder why??

Shaggin' awful I'd say.
Gibson, the other guitars, are moments from doom with a 500 million dollar debt, closure of factories and no-shows at trade expo's around the world yet they keep coming up with the wackiest things including these Custom 'Boogie Van' Les Paul's.

The heavy metal rumbles at Daytona

Looks a good 200mph to me.
First out of the blocks for season 2018 are the mighty NASCAR's in what is their regular season starter.. the Daytona 500. The field is now set with Alex Bowman planting his big ol' Chevy on pole for Hendrick Motorsport.

And I'm back

Nice tan !
So that's if for holidays. Possibly a little longer than I had expected but we have had some pretty lousy weather (hot) down in this part of the world which really affects the brain when it comes to creative writing, which is what this blog is all about. So firstly I hope my readers and fans of 'Electric Guitars and Racing Cars' had a good and safe Christmas and the new year is being kind to you all.

RACING CARS:
I really need to catch up on where I left things last year in what turned out to be a pretty ho hum finish to the racing season. Blingy won the F1 championship for the nineteenth time with a race up his sleeve . I have to say he looked rather flat at the presentation in Mexico.
